Founded in 2017 by Ashley Donaldson, Ignite the Arts is a cultural database, promotor, and integrator, bringing the arts to the Findlay, Ohio area - be it visual, musical, or performing.
Findlay, Ohio native, Ashley Donaldson, completed a Bachelor of Music Education degree at Bowling Green State University before moving to London to attend Camberwell College of Arts for a Foundation Diploma. Upon completion, she stayed on in London, obtaining a Masters degree in Music Education from Roehampton University. Her primary instrument is trumpet. Piano and voice have also played large roles in her musical career.
In April 2015, Ashley exhibited work at London's National Portrait Gallery as part of the social media-sourced 'Pets in Portraits' show. She has participated in solo and group juried and invitational exhibitions across Ohio, and produces commissioned portraits (human and animal; oil, acrylic, graphite), has designed album covers, and is a keen photographer. She works closely with truck artist, Miss Flatbed Red.
As a musician, Ashley has performed at the Royal Albert, Royal Festival, and Cadogan Halls; St. Paul's, Southwark, Norwich, Chester, and Lichfield Cathedrals; Westminster Abbey, St. Martin-in-the-Fields, and parish churches across England and Ohio. She teaches private and group social dance, and maintains a bustling art studio in downtown Findlay.
