Founded in 2017 by Ashley Donaldson, Ignite the Arts is a cultural database, promotor, and integrator, bringing the arts to the community - be it visual, musical, or performing.
Findlay, Ohio native, Ashley Donaldson completed a Bachelor of Music Education degree at Bowling Green State University before moving to London to attend Camberwell College of Arts for a Foundation Diploma. Upon completion, she stayed on in London for many more years, first obtaining a Masters degree in Music Education from Roehampton University.
In April 2015, Ashley exhibited work at London's National Portrait Gallery as part of the social media-sourced 'Pets in Portraits' show. She has participated in solo and group juried and invitational exhibitions across Ohio, and produces commissioned portraits (human and animal; oil, acrylic, graphite), has designed album covers, and is a keen photographer. She works closely with truck artist, Miss Flatbed Red.
As a musician, Ashley has performed at the Royal Albert, Royal Festival and Cadogan Halls; St. Paul's, Southwark, Norwich, Chester, and Lichfield Cathedrals; Westminster Abbey, St. Martin-in-the-Fields, and parish churches across England and Ohio. She teaches private and group ballroom/social dance.
